Lab Sessions

Primary Thought

• Review the example Critical Proposal in the Coursework Information section of the VLE https://learn.gold.ac.uk/mod/folder/view.php?id=1379980
• It got a first, but has lots of room for improvement.
• Last year, the Effect Size and Design Schematic were NOT required. This year they are COMPULSORY.
• Remember, 70% of the mark is for Critical Evaluation, 30% for Reflective engagement and talking about your planned research

Main Lab Activities

• Keep moving forwards with Critical Evaluation
• Continue refining your research ideas. It’s a nice change from reading and detail work

Module Milestones (by end of this week)

• You will have confirmed your Target Paper is a good one.
• You will be happy with some element of your Design (IV(A), IV(B) or your DV) or it may be your task. Get it down on paper.

Reflection and Meta-Cognitive Practice

How confident do you feel identifying something in the ‘literature’ that is reliable, feasible, accessible, and of high quality?

Is it a bit more difficult than it should be? If so, what help do you need/want? How might you find that support?
